Jerry Kwan (Jackie Chan) is the son of a grocer who is being bullied by the mob in 1920’s Chicago. The local mob has been squeezing the family for “protection” money. Of course, Jerry wants to fight back, but his father does not approve of using violence to solve the problem. Still, he gets into a scuffle with some of the mob’s henchman, and his fighting style catches the eye of mob boss Domenici (Jose Ferrer). Domenici believes he could put the fix on a “last man standing” brawl, an event that means a lot to him. If he could recruit Jerry and his amazing fighting technique, he could win a lot of money by betting on him to win the brawl, and also claim the victory for himself.
