“Birth” is the other-worldly story of a great looking widow, Anna (Nicole Kidman) who is newly engaged to be married. She meets a boy (Cameron Bright) at a birthday party thrown by her mom (Lauren Bacall). The boy tells her that he is her dead husband, Sean, reincarnated. Anna doesn't listen to him at first, but he keeps coming back to her mind. Anna’s fiancé (Danny Huston) is really worried, especially as she starts to question life. It really explores the age-old fascination we all have with reincarnation. It is truly science fiction, bordering on creepy. The scenes with Anna and the young Sean are really interesting, especially since Cameron Bright is a really good actor, for a ten-year old. The movie is fairly dark, yet hopeful.
